- WKU fell to 4-4 on the season and 1-3 in the Sun Belt Conference. Troy improved to 5-3 on the year, including a 2-2 mark in league play.
- WKU returns to action on Nov. 2 at Georgia State in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome. The game is set for a noon kickoff on the Sun Belt Network.

- Attendance was 20,110, marking the second game this season with over 20,000 fans and the seventh crowd of over 20,000 since Houchens Industires-L.T. Smith Stadium was expanded in 2008.
- WKU received to open the game. WKU has received to open the game in every game this season.
- WKU's team captains were Jonathan Dowling, Brandon Doughty, Cam Thomas and Andrew Jackson. The honorary captain was Dave Chandler.

- Senior running back Antonio Andrews finished the game with 292 all-purpose yards, the ninth most in a single-game by a player in the FBS entering Saturday.
- Andrews is one of two players in the FBS to record two games of 290 or more all-purpose yards this season.
- Andrews reached the 6,000 yard all-purpose mark for his career in the second half, becoming just the 42nd player in NCAA FBS history to reach the mark.
- Andrews continues to climb the NCAA's FBS career all-purpose yards list. He entered the game at 62nd on the all-time list with 5,790 yards and finished at 38th place all-time with 6,082 yards.
- Andrews also continues to climb the NCAA's FBS best two-year all-purpose span. He entered the game ranked 10th all-time at 4,761 yards and finished ranked 5th with 5,053 all-purpose yards since start of 2012.
- Andrews became just the fifth player in NCAA FBS history to reach 5,000 all-purpose yards over a two-year period.
