Are you ready for some football? WKU Athletics counts you down to opening day at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium on September 1, 2012 with the 50-day “Countdown to Kickoff” series on WKUSports.com. Each day will be accompanied by a significant number in WKU football history.
Feix Coaches WKU for 16 Seasons
Jimmy Feix’s name reigns among the most revered in Hilltopper Athletic lore for his All-American quarterback and Hall of Fame coaching status.
Feix coached 16 seasons on the Hill (1968-1983), winning more games (106) than any coach in WKU football history.
Feix’s teams posted winning records in 13 of his 16 seasons, including a Division II National runner-up finish in 1973. His .649 winning percentage still stands at the top of the record books.
