WKU Running Back Antonio Andrews
(On falling short of the all-purpose record)
“I fell short, but I have another season to go get it. I fell short, but it is what it is. These seniors got to a bowl game and they went out and did their thing.”
(On the overall bowl experience) “Overall it was a good experience. Just to see the seniors enjoy themselves and come up here to Detroit and just like everything. Coach G [Guidry] gave us some freedom to enjoy our company and to really enjoy the seniors. It was a fun experience and hopefully we make it back here or to another bowl. That is my goal for next year.”
WKU Quarterback Kawaun Jakes
(On the final throw on the fourth down attempt)
“I didn’t make the throw. It is as simple as that. If I would have just put it in the right spot he [Jack Doyle] wouldn’t have had to dive for it and it wouldn’t have been a circus catch. That is just how it went.”
(On if Jack Doyle was his first read on that play)
“No he wasn’t. He was actually the second read. But the corner jumped the flat route and Jack was over the top. Like I said, I just didn’t make the throw.”
(On his thoughts on the decision to go for it on fourth down)
“I was in the huddle saying ‘Go for it.’
(On his career at WKU)
“I played with a bunch of warriors. Every day we grind. Every day. You don’t always get the best outcome, but you never quit. That is something I never did and my teammates didn’t either. I congratulate them.”
