Senior Defensive Lineman Jamarcus Allen
(On having a home run derby to get away from the daily grind of football)
“It was good for us to have coming off a short week.”
(On if the team thinks about the bowl scenarios)
“It’s hard not to say that we don’t think about it, but right now we are just worrying about FAU and getting this win. I feel that if we get too far ahead of ourselves and start worrying about what bowl we are going to or who we are playing in the bowl, we start to lose sight of the team in front of us. Right now we are just worried about FAU.”
(On the Sun Belt Conference champion still far from being decided)
“We have thought about it. It sucks that destiny is held in other teams’ hands right now with what we set forth as our goals. We can’t control it. The only thing we can control is our next game and just coming out on top in that one.”
(On what he sees from Florida Atlantic on film)
“Just watching the film from what I saw yesterday, just how they play up front and as an offense doesn’t match up with their record. We see that a lot in our conference. We can’t go into this game taking them lightly at all because we have a big target on our back from teams trying to knock us off to keep us away from where we are trying to go. We are just going to go into this game trying to dominate and get back to where we should be.”
Senior Tight End Jack Doyle
(On his role as a leader and making sure the team moves on from Thursday's loss)
“That’s a role you take a senior, and as a senior leader as me and Jamarcus are, I don’t know if it is necessarily being more vocal with the guys but showing them that you have moved on from the game and you are just excited for the next opportunity to play another Sun Belt team. That is all we are focused on, just getting that seventh win. That is what we have to do.”
(On playing FAU on Saturday)
“You can’t really watch the film from last year or what they did last year because it is a whole new coaching staff. You have to go in there and see what kind of scheme they are doing, and they have a lot of guys on defense that can run and are athletic. It is important for us to kind of determine what we are seeing from them, and it’s like what Coach Taggart always says, if we play our best game we don’t feel that anybody can beat us. We are focusing on what we can do and get that seventh win.”
