BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Fresh off its second-consecutive Sun Belt Conference Tournament title, the Western Kentucky University volleyball team held at No. 17 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll.
Now sporting a 32-3 overall record, the Lady Toppers received 511 points in poll votes after receiving 492 last week at the conclusion of their regular season.
The team's winning percentage of .914 ranks them third nationally in match win-loss percentage behind No. 1 Penn State's .931 (27-2) and No. 8 Hawaii's .923 (24-2). WKU's only losses of the season came against teams that are currently in the top 15 in Penn State, No. 9 Louisville (27-3) and No. 14 Ohio State (22-8).
The Lady Toppers are tied with five other teams for the second-most games played this season with 35; however, WKU leads the nation with 32 wins and is on the longest active winning streak at 24-straight games.
WKU finds out its NCAA Tournament destination and opponents when the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship 64-team bracket is announced in a nationally-televised selection show on Sunday, November 25, at 3 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
