BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-After completing the regular season with a 3-0 win over Middle Tennessee Friday night, the Western Kentucky University volleyball team took a step up in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll this week to No. 17.
WKU received 492 votes in this week's poll after notching 463 last week when ranked at the 18 spot. The Lady Toppers are now in their ninth-consecutive week in the top 25, as the team holds a 29-3 overall record and finished the Sun Belt Conference schedule at 15-0.
The team begins its postseason play on Thursday, November 15, as WKU hosts the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The Lady Toppers earned the No. 1 seed and will take on No. 8 seed FIU on Thursday at 5 p.m. in E.A. Diddle Arena. The winner of that match will take on either No. 4 seed UALR or No. 5 seed Arkansas State on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
An adult three-day pass is available for the tournament for $20 while a single-day ticket is $10. For youth (2-12), a three-day pass is $10 while a single-day pass is $5. All Sun Belt Conference students will be admitted for free with an institution ID. Tickets are available at the WKU ticket office, which can be reached by calling 1-800-5-BIG RED.
