HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – With the Sun Belt Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championship beginning on Saturday, the league office has released full ticket details for the four-day event that runs until March 8.
Each of the 12 Sun Belt Conference institutions have received an allotment of tickets. Allocation and distribution policies will vary by institution. For prices and information, each local Sun Belt Conference school ticket office should be contacted. Institutional tickets will display each school’s name and will be good for admission to special sections marked by signage in both Summit Arena and the Convention Center Court. These sections will be located behind the team bench areas.
In addition to institutional tickets, tournament books for all 22 games are currently on sale at the Summit Arena Box Office and at all Ticketmaster outlets – as well as ticketmaster.com. Tournament books are $128. Individual session tickets will be on sale beginning February 14 at the price of $15.
Great deals are included for this year’s basketball championship – most notably children ages three through 17 will be admitted to each session for only $1. Children ages 2 and under are admitted at no charge.
Also for the second consecutive year, the Sun Belt Conference is inviting all elementary and middle school children from Hot Springs and nearby areas to participate in the "Drive to the Summit." The Drive to the Summit will begin at Hill Wheatly Plaza with registration opening at 10 a.m. and the festivities starting at 11 a.m. At the start of the event, kids will be asked to participate in basic basketball drills before dribbling their new basketballs down the street to the Hot Springs Convention center. Registered participants will receive a free Sun Belt Conference prize pack consisting of a t-shirt, basketball, and complimentary tickets to the first session games. Each participating child will receive a ticket for one accompanying parent.
New for 2011 the Sun Belt has enlisted the help of the Junior Auxiliary of Hot Springs to reach out to the greater Hot Springs community. Through this partnership the JA will have the opportunity to sell tickets at a deeply discounted rate and also give JA the opportunity to raise funds for their organization. Ticket books sold through the JA are $100. Each ticket JA sells, the Sun Belt Conference has agreed to donate $20 back to the organization.
