BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Western Kentucky University volleyball coaching staff announced this week the recipients of the program's two endowed scholarships. Senior Tiffany Elmore received the Dr. Kela Fee Memorial Scholarship while classmate Lindsay Williams received the Lee Murray Scholarship.
"We feel very blessed to have two families that think enough of our volleyball program here at WKU and the way we do things to donate scholarships first and foremost, but to want their names associated with our program and how we do things, we are very, very grateful to both of them for that," WKU coach Travis Hudson said.
Both Elmore and Williams are three-year letterwinners as members of the Lady Topper volleyball team and have played in combined 212 career matches during their tenure at WKU.
"I'm really, really proud of the two people who have been chosen this year in Tiffany Elmore and Lindsay Williams," Hudson said. "They are both true student athletes. They both represent themselves, their families and our program at the highest level."
2011 marks the third year in existence for both scholarships.
The Lady Toppers return to action this weekend, traveling to face South Alabama on Friday at 7 p.m. in Mobile, Ala., followed Saturday by a 3 p.m. matchup against Troy in Troy, Ala.
