Bowling Green, Ky. -- Kelly Potts is one of two seniors on the 2010 WKU Lady Topper volleyball team and will be a critical piece of the defensive game for WKU this season.
As a junior, Potts finished the season ranking fifth on the squad with 141 digs in 34 games, including five or more digs in 16 different matches. She had a total of 23 assists and a pair of kills on the year and performed well in the Sun Belt Conference tournament, posting an assist each match, to go along with five digs in the opening round game against Denver.
The Louisville, Ky., native has played in 380 sets during her three-year career along with 499 career digs, 39 services aces and 103 assists. Potts will be joined this season by her younger sister Ashley Potts. The two will be playing on the same team for the first time.

The Lady Toppers finished the 2009 season with a 25-9 overall record and a second-place finish in the Sun Belt Eastern Division.

Q: What is your favorite activity outside your current sport?
A: Going to drive-in movies and playing cornhole.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Anything Mexican.
Q: What books have you read lately?
A: I have re-read the Twilight Saga and some James Patterson books.
Q: What is your favorite spring break destination?
A: Seacrest, renting a house right on the beach with a lot of friends was a perfect vacation.
Q: What was your favorite cartoon character when you were a child?
A: I watched a lot of Scooby Doo and Eureka's Castle but I was a huge fan of Mickey Mouse. My bedroom was decorated in Mickey Mouse.
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
A: Grey's Anatomy and Gossip Girl
Q: If you could have dinner with any person in history, who would it be and why?
A: King Louie because I am obsessed with the fleur de lis and would want to know the story behind it.
Q: If you could have dinner with any person no longer living, who would it be and why?
A: My uncle passed away when I was in grade school. He was so fun loving and loved volleyball too.
Q: What are your plans after your playing days are over here at WKU?
A: Moving back to Louisville and getting my MBA and waiting to see what happens.
Q: What is your proudest moment in sports?
A: My proudest moment would be to win a Sun Belt Conference championship. Better yet- sweeping the conference regular season and tournament championships.
Q: Who is your favorite singer or music group?
A: John Mayer has always been a constant since high school.
Q: What is the best movie you have ever seen?
A: The Wedding Date. The soundtrack is amazing and I love the main characters.
Q: Who is the most influential person in your life and why?
A: My grandparents because their love for each other is what I strive for in my life. After 50 years, they can still make each other laugh.
