Bowling Green, Ky. -- Lauren Stuckel is going to be an important part of the 2010 WKU Lady Topper volleyball team. She is one of four athletes to participate in all 126 sets in 2009.
Stuckel led WKU with 1,206 assists last season, averaging over nine assists per set. She finished second on the team in services aces with 44 and fourth with 168 digs. She also posted 176 kills, including a career-high 11 against SEC opponent Tennessee.
The Belleville, Ill., native had a career and season-high 63 assists against IUPUI, while also notching six kills and six digs. She recorded 40 or more assists in nine different contests, including five against conference foes. WKU had a record of 4-1 in those five conference games.
Each weekday for the next two weeks, WKUSports.com will be highlighting a different member of the 2010 WKU Lady Topper volleyball team as they prepare to open the regular season on Friday at Purdue. The Lady Toppers finished the 2009 season with a 25-9 overall record and a second-place finish in the Sun Belt Eastern Division.

Q: What is your favorite activity outside your current sport?
A: Shopping. It is bonding time for my mother and me.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Macaroni and cheese! I love cheese and pasta- it is a great combination.
Q: What is your favorite spring break destination?
A: My home in Belleville, Ill. I normally have to do observations for my special education major.
Q: What was your favorite cartoon character when you were a child?
A: Rugrats- Angelica was so mean.
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
A: Chelsea Lately- I love how she makes fun of celebrities.
Q: If you could have dinner with any person in history, who would it be and why?
A: The Beatles- I love their music and the era.
Q: If you could have dinner with any person no longer living, who would it be and why?
A: Abraham Lincoln, he really changed our country forever.
Q: What are your plans after your playing days are over here at WKU?
A: Become a high school special education teacher.
Q: What is your proudest moment in sports?
A: Being named to prep volleyball aces line
Q: Who is your all-time favorite sports personality?
A: Albert Pujols- love the Cardinals!
Q: Other than WKU, who is your favorite team?
A: St. Louis Cardinals- I live 15 minutes away from the stadium.
Q: Who is your favorite singer or music group?
A: Imogen Heap- she has a great voice and great lyrics.
Q: What is the best movie you have ever seen?
A: Salt- I love Angelina Jolie!
Q: Who is the most influential person in your life and why?
A: My mother- she has accomplished a lot!
