Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University distance runners Janet Jesang and Deus Rwaheru were named Sun Belt Conference track performers of the week Wednesday for their efforts last weekend.
  Jesang - a four-time all-America recipient - ran an NCAA automatic-qualifying time of 16:04.48 in the 5,000 meters at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. She has now hit automatic qualifiers in the 3,000 and 5,000 meters, while also have a provisional time in the mile on the season. On the national descending order list, Jesang currently ranks 11th in the mile, fifth in the 3,000m, and ninth in the 5,000m.
  At the Grand Valley Big Meet, Rwaheru led WKU with a winning time of 14:15.42 in the invitational 5,000 meters, missing the NCAA provisional mark by just five seconds. With that effort, Rwaheru passed former Hilltopper distance runner and current UT-Chattanooga head coach Bill Gautier for fifth all-time at WKU in the indoor 5,000. Rwaheru currently holds the SBC's top marks in the 3,000m and 5,000m.
  Jesang and Rwaheru will lead WKU into the Sun Belt Indoor Track and Field Championships February 27-28 at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The Lady Toppers will be looking for their fifth-straight league indoor title, while the Hilltoppers will be looking to avenge a four-point loss to MTSU last indoor season.
