Bowling Green, KY. - Three WKU Lady Topper soccer players earned All-Sun Belt Conference honors, announced Tuesday evening at an awards banquet before the start of the conference tournament held at the WKU Soccer Complex Wednesday-Saturday.
Junior forward Mallory Outerbridge was voted to the ALL-Sun Belt Conference First Team while junior goalkeeper Libby Stout and junior defender Kaylyn Pratt were named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team. Outerbridge's first-team all-conference selection marks the second straight year in which the league's coaches have voted her to the first team.
A three-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection Outerbridge was voted to the All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team in her freshman campaign. She has been an offensive force for WKU in 2010, leading the team with seven goals, four assists for 18 points. Outerbridge has played in all 18 games for the Lady Toppers, starting in 16 of them. She has tallied one game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Southeast Missouri State. Outerbridge is 2-2 in penalty kick opportunities on the season. She had a season-high two goals and two assists for six points in the 4-0 victory over Evansville, earning SBC player of the week on 9/7/10. The six points also placed her third on WKU's single-match points list.
A two-time All-Sun Belt Conference First Team selection, junior goalkeeper Libby Stout was voted to the All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team. The captain and leader for the Lady Toppers Stout has been a strong defensive force between the pipes. Leading the conference in shutouts with seven, Stout also sits first on WKU's career shutout list with 28. Stout posted a single-game high of 11 saves in a 1-0 victory over Sun Belt Conference powerhouse North Texas. She has tallied 66 saves for a save percentage of .776 on the season. Stout is fifth in the conference with 1.14 goals against average and holds a 0.70 career goals against average. Stout currently sits second on WKU's career wins and saves list with 32 wins and 234 saves.
For the second consecutive season, junior defender Kaylyn Pratt was voted to the All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team. Pratt has appeared in all 18 games this season starting 17 of them. As a defender for the Lady Toppers Pratt has played an instrumental role in the Lady Toppers eight shutouts this season. A strong defender Pratt has helped the Lady Toppers only allow opponents 20 goals this season. Pratt has also scored one goal this season in the 1-1 tie against Eastern Kentucky University for a season-high two points. In her career at WKU Pratt has tallied 11 goals and two assists for 24 points as a defender.
The 2010 WKU Lady Topper soccer team (8-8-2, 6-5 SBC) are seeded sixth for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament hosted by WKU. The Lady Toppers will take on third-seeded North Texas in the opening round Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the WKU Soccer Complex. Should WKU advance past North Texas, they would take on the Middle Tennessee-Florida Atlantic match-up at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
