Bowling Green, Ky. - Behind the strength of three all-Sun Belt Conference performances, the Western Kentucky University women's cross country team captured its fifth-straight league title Saturday at home at Kereiakes Park. In fact, the WKU women's track and field and cross country programs have now won 15-consecutive league titles in cross country, indoor and outdoor dating back to 2006 – the longest such streak in the nation. The Hilltoppers finished fourth in the men's team standings, and had the top-two individual finishers.
 The Lady Toppers had the low score of 39 points to claim the title, with Florida Atlantic taking runner-up honors with 86 points, Arkansas State was third with 94, and Middle Tennessee fourth with 100. Fifth was South Alabama with 154 points, followed by North Texas (157), Troy (161), Arkansas-Little Rock (213), Florida International (215), Louisiana-Monroe (232), and Louisiana-Lafayette (252).
 UALR won the men's team title behind the strength of five runners among the top-20 individual finishers. Taking runner-up honors was MTSU with 76 points, followed by USA with 97 and WKU with 124 points. In fifth was ULM (162), followed by UNT (167), FAU (172), tied for eighth with 175 points was ASU and Troy. Rounding out the men's team scoring, FIU was tenth with 235 points and ULL was 11th with 299.
 Winning the women's individual title was Marion Kandie, who clocked a 5,000-meter time of 17:34.2 to earn the second all-league honor of her career. Taking runner-up honors was Vasity Chemweno, who navigated the course in 17:43.4. Michelle Finn tied for fourth-place honors with Arkansas State's Kristina Aubert, crossing the finish line in 18:01.0. Rounding out the top-five places for the Lady Toppers, Rachel Friedman was 12th in 18:48.1, while Monica Akello was 19th in 19:10.1.
 After leading the Hilltoppers in each race this season, Shadrack Kipchirchir led from the gun, capturing his first SBC title with an 8,000-meter clocking of 24:33.1. Deus Rwaheru completed the one-two individual finishers for WKU, taking runner-up honors with a time of 24:52.7 to earn all-SBC honors. Finishing 16th was Kyle Chettleburgh, who clocked a time of 26:08.7, while Brett Austin was 49th in 28:19.9 and Lucas Somers was 58th in 29:11.2.
 For her team's efforts, Lady Topper distance coach Michelle Scott was voted 2010 Women's Cross Country Coach-of-the-Year by her coaching peers, marking the third such honor of her career.
