BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The WKU volleyball team returns to action tonight when they hit the court for their final non-conference match of the season against Xavier. The Lady Toppers are looking to pick up their 11th win of the season after falling to conference rival, Middle Tennessee, on Friday night in Murfreesboro, Tenn in five sets. WKU is currently 10-5 this season and 0-1 in the Sun Belt Conference. The match begins at 7 p.m. CDT and live stats will be available at www.wkusports.com
NOTING THE LADY TOPPERS
• The Lady Toppers opened up Sun Belt play on Friday night in Murfreesboro, Tenn. falling to Middle Tennessee 2-3. Tonight, the
Lady Toppers will take on Xavier at 7 p.m. CDT in E.A. Diddle Arena in just their fourth home match of the 2009 season. WKU is
4-6 all-time against Xavier and is 2-3 at home against the Musketeers. In 2008, WKU defeated Xavier 3-1 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Prior
to the 2008 meeting, the last time the two teams competed was on October 1, 1995 when Xavier defeated WKU 1-3.
• After battling Xavier in their final non-conference match of the season, WKU will hit the road for Florida for meeting with
Florida International and Florida Atlantic. On Friday night, WKU will play Florida International in Miami at 5:30 p.m CDT. On
Saturday, the Lady Toppers will hit the court against Florida Atlantic at 12 p.m.
Middle Tennessee Recap
• Against Middle Tennessee, the Lady Toppers posted a .061 hitting percentage after committing 40 errors in 148 attempts and
picking up 49 kills. In the five set match, the Lady Toppers posted hitting percentages of .143 in the first set, .100 in the second set,
.143 in the third set, .057 in the fourth set and -.250 in the fifth set. The Lady Toppers also finished the night with 45 assists, three
aces, 42 digs and 20 total blocks.
• Sophomore Tiffany Elmore led the way for the Lady Toppers against the Blue Raiders finishing the night with nine kills and a
.185 hitting percentage. In addition, she racked up seven blocks during the night. Senior Abbie Siljendahl paced the Lady Toppers
in the kill category recording a team-high 13 during the contest. Sophomore Lauren Stuckel led the team in assists with 38 and
freshman Sarah Rogers had a match-high 14 digs.
