Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kenucky University cross country athletes Janet Jesang and Patrick Cheptoek were named women's and men's Sun Belt Conference Performer of the Week, respectively, for their efforts at the Old Timers Classic Tuesday.
  Jesang - a senior from Kampala, Uganda - won the women's 5,000-meter race at the Old Timers Classic, clocking time of 17:07.31. That performance rans as the fastest time recorded at Kereiakes Park since construction forced a reconfiguration of the course in 2007. During her tenure on the hill, Jesang has earned three USTFCCA all-America honors, and has won the SBC individual cross country championship twice.
  Cheptoek - a senior from Kapchousa, Uganda - won the men's five-mile race at the Old Timers Classic, navigating the course in 24:24.96. He defeated his closest competitor by nearly eight seconds, and is one of only 25 men to ever break 25 minutes on Kereiakes Park's five-mile course.
  The teams will return to action October 4, traveling to E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park to partake in the Greater Louisville Classic.
