WKU earned its first-ever FBS bowl bid in 2012, accepting an invitation to play Central Michigan in the 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.
Bobby Petrino was named head coach at WKU on December 10, 2012, becoming the 18th head coach in school history.
Bobby Petrino owns a 75-26 career record as a head coach, with seven bowl appearances and two BCS bowl game wins.
The 2013 WKU coaching staff features 229 years of coaching experience, coupled with 19 years of NFL playing experience.
A record crowd of 23,252 witnessed the Hilltoppers defeat Southern Miss 42-17 on September 22.
Hilltopper running back Antonio Andrews was named one of four finalists for the 2012 Paul Hornung Award, given annually to the nation's most versatile player.
Two different Hilltoppers led the nation in statistical categories in 2012, as running back Antonio Andrews led the nation in all-purpose yards per game and defensive end Quanterus Smith led the nation in sacks per game.
Andrews and Smith were also named SI.com All-Americans, along with being named All-Americans by Phile Steele.
Bobby Rainey - 2011 All-America selection by the Walter Camp Football Foundation (2nd team), SI.com (2nd team), Associated Press (3rd team), Yahoo! Sports (3rd team) and Phil Steele College Football Preview (4th team). Also named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season.
John Evans - 2011 SI.com Honorable Mention All-America kickoff returner.
Recently renovated Houchens Industries - L.T. Smith Stadium features new locker room, weight room, training room, equipment room and meeting areas along with an expanded academic advising area. The stadium also features club seats, a $1.5 million video replay scoreboard and a state of the art playing surface installed in the spring of 2009.
WKU completed its 94th season of football it 2012: rich history includes 69 All-Americans, 12 conference championships, and 10 playoff appearances including 2002 I-AA National Championship.
Finished 7-5 in 2011 to become bowl eligible for the first time since joining the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2009, then followed that up with another 7-5 season in 2012, earning a bid to the 2012 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.
