                                         VISITING TEAM INFORMATION

This page was created to assist visiting teams prior to and during their competitions at Western Kentucky University. WKU athletic trainers will be available to assist you during your visit to Bowling Green. Teams traveling with an athletic trainer are welcome to use our facilities. If your teams travel without an athletic trainer, please notify us in advance. We will be happy to accommodate your needs if prior arrangements have been made.

                                        ATHLETIC TRAINING SERVICES

Football:

Ice will be available on your sideline and locker room as needed. Please let us know in advance if you may require more.
Coolers along with cups will be filled and set-up for the sideline and locker room prior to your arrival, and will be refilled and replaced as needed.
Four cases of Gatorade will be placed in the locker room.
Taping tables will be set up in the locker room, and may be moved or adjusted as needed.
An ambulance will be located at the home end of the Houchens Industries – L.T. Smith stadium towards the northeast corner of the field.
WKU team physicians will be located on the home sideline and available as needed by request.
An x-ray technician will be available for routine x-rays that can be done at the student health service adjacent to the stadium for the cost of the x-ray.

Volleyball / Basketball:

An athletic training student aide will be assigned to your team to assist you in any way needed.
The E.A. Diddle Arena Athletic Training Room will open two hours prior to each game for modality treatments or taping. (if more time is needed, please contact an athletic trainer in advance so accommodations can be made).
A team physician / EMT crew will be available in attendance or on call.
An ice chest with ice bags will be available at your sideline bench and in your locker room.

Soccer / Baseball / Softball:

A certified athletic trainer will be available on the WKU team bench/dugout to assist you if needed.
The Houchens Industries - L.T. Smith Stadium Athletic Training Room will be available prior to each game for modality treatments or taping as needed. Please contact an athletic trainer in advance so accommodations can be made.
A team physician will be available or on call.
Two 10-gallon coolers of ice water and an ice chest with ice bags will be available at your sideline bench.

Swimming & Diving:

A certified athletic trainer will be available poolside to assist you if needed.
The E.A. Diddle Athletic Training Room will open two hours prior to each meet for modality treatments or taping. (If more time is needed, please contact an athletic trainer in advance so accommodations can be made)
A team physician will be available in attendance or on call.
Certified lifeguards will be monitoring competing swimmers and will be ready to assist if needed.

Cross Country / Track:

A certified athletic trainer will be available at the medical tent to assist you if needed.
A medical tent will be set-up two hours prior to the beginning of competition for modality treatments or taping that is required. (If treatments are required the day before competition, please contact our staff in advance so proper accommodations can be made.)
A team physician will be available in attendance or on call.
Two 10-gallon coolers of ice water and an ice chest will be available at the finish line and various spots along the course/track.
An ambulance will be located at the northeast corner of the complex.

In case of emergencies occurring during a practice or event held at WKU, the phone at the facility or in the training room office will be used to make the emergency call. For emergencies occurring at athletic events held off-campus, the athletic department staff member’s cellular phone will be used to make the emergency call.

In case of an emergency injury/illness after hours, please contact your team’s athletic trainer or any WKU staff athletic trainer. If a staff athletic trainer cannot be reached, go the Greenview Hospital Emergency Room.
