WKU HAS TWO NAMED TO RIVALS.COM SUN BELT ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM

Offensive Lineman Wes Jeffries and Defensive Back Ryan Beard were each named to the Rivals.com Sun Belt Conference All-Freshman team. 

Jeffries, a redshirt freshman who attended Bowling Green’s Warren Central High School, started the final seven games of the 2008 season at left offensive tackle.  Beard, a redshirt freshman who attended Bowling Green High School, started 10 games at strong safety and led WKU with three interceptions while also adding 41 total tackles and a sack.

The Hilltoppers, who played five Sun Belt teams in 2008, will play a full Sun Belt slate in 2009 and be eligible for the conference championship and a bowl berth.
