Bowling Green, Ky. After claiming the 2008 Sun Belt Conference volleyball title this past weekend, the Lady Toppers have plently to look forward to in the coming week. On Sunday, not only will the Lady Toppers learn who they will play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but they will also have the chance to re-live their Sun Belt victory when the championship match is replayed on WKYU immediately following the WKU men's basketball game against Louisville that is slated to begin at 2 p.m. CST.
The Lady Toppers, who claimed their second Sun Belt title in just four years after sweeping New Orleans in the championhip match, are currently on a 12-match winning streak and will compete in the fourth NCAA Tournament in school history. Last season, the Lady Toppers earned the Sun Belt Conference's first-ever at-large bid and competed in Lincoln, Nebraska in the first round.
To top off the weekend success, the Lady Toppers also received votes in the Bison/AVCA Division I Coaches Poll this week ranked 36th with five votes and have moved up to 25th in this week's RKPI poll.
Fans will have the chance to celebrate with the newly crowned Sun Belt champions on Sunday night when the team heads to Double Dogs for a viewing party of the NCAA Tournament selection show that will air at 9 p.m. on ESPNU. The team will arrive at 8 p.m. and everyone is invited to help celebrate the Lady Topper's winning season.
