This will mark the fifth time WNKY-TV has broadcast a WKU football game, and first since the Hilltoppers visited Auburn in 2005.
“It’s been our goal for a while now to broadcast more WKU games. The opportunity was there to get the game and it seems to be a good fit for our viewers and the university. We are committed to helping grow WKU Athletics and will continue to make an effort to bring WKU games to our viewers. I’m glad we are able to make this happen and I hope the WKU fan base will enjoy the game,” said Ed Groves, WNKY General Manager.
“We knew when we made the decision to transition to I-A that one of the benefits of such a move would be greater television exposure and more opportunities for live TV appearances. The game versus Bowling Green represents the third televised appearance for WKU football in the month of September, so we are seeing immediately the benefits of our move. What a wonderful opportunity for our fans to follow the Tops on WNKY for an important road contest against one of the better MAC teams. It should be an exciting game to follow as WKU continues its transition to I-A,” added Dr. Wood Selig, WKU Director of Athletics.
WNKY-TV will be changing its Saturday programming to broadcast the football game. Visit WNKY.NET for updated programming changes.
