The Hilltoppers’ record fell to 1-4-2 after the match as High Point improved to 1-5-1 on the year.
The Panthers struck again in the 12th minute as Chris Shrum scored one of his two goals on the night to put HPU up 2-0. Shrum would add his second goal in the 60th minute off of a pass from Hilaire Babou to finish out the scoring for High Point.
The Toppers scored in the 78th minute when Andy Masteller found Chris Davies for his first goal on the year.
WKU did out shoot the Panthers 19-15 forcing Adam Ross to make six saves in goal. Rojo and Shrum added four shots apiece for High Point.
Kyle Schroeder stopped seven shots in 90 minutes of action as Will Thompson added four shots and Dustin Downey three for the Toppers.
The Hilltoppers will return to action on Sunday to face tournament host Marshall at 12:30 p.m. (CDT).
