Jared Holland (Franklin), Terrance Houston (Nashville) and Andre Lewis (Madison) all hail from Tennessee. The other two captains for the contest with the Blue Raiders are Curtis Hamilton and Marion Rumph. All five student-athletes are seniors.
Holland made his first start of the season last week in WKU’s 26-6 victory over Eastern Kentucky, grading out at 84 percent, while Houston received a 90 percent overall grade and a 92 percent production mark against the Colonels, finishing with a season-best 14 knockdown blocks. Lewis was credited with a season-high six tackles in the EKU victory.
A native of West Paducah, Ky., Hamilton caught a career-best 12 passes for 139 yards last time out, the second-highest reception total in a game in school history, and Rumph — who hails from Bradenton, Fla. — was second on the squad with seven total stops in the “Battle of the Bluegrass.”
Both Lewis (West Virginia Tech) and Rumph (Florida) have served as game captains already this season.
Thursday’s match-up with the Blue Raiders will kick off at 6 p.m. (CDT) in Murfreesboro, with the game televised regionally on ESPN Plus. It can be seen in Bowling Green on WKYU-PBS (local cable channel 11) and is also airing on Comcast Sports Southeast.
