Hilltopper freshman Bethuel Kiplagat led the way for WKU, covering the 5,000-meter course in 15:34.29 for eighth place. Finishing in the top-50 for the Tops was Patrick Hammond in 43rd, Brian Dugan 47th, and Drew Hawkins 50th.
The Lady Toppers will take the course for the first competition of the season when they join the men's team in hosting the Old Timers Classic on September 15 at Bowling Green's Kereiakes Park. The 26th annual event will be contested in memory of WKU graduate and long-time Harvard track assistant Dr. Paul Turner, who passed away on June 27, 2007.
