This is the second time in as many seasons that Davies is a first-team selection. In fact, the Frankfort, Ky., native has been named ESPN The Magazine first-team Academic District IV the last two years and last week was selected third-team Academic All-America.
The chemistry major and mathematics minor saw action in 13 contests this season including a start against Berea. The senior made the most of his start by scoring a goal in the 79th minute to help the Toppers to a 3-0 victory. Davies then added an assist to Jake Schuler in the 43rd minute at Mercer. The defender also led a defense to four shutouts on the season.
Kopec has started all 35 matches during his first two years on the Hill, including all 19 this season. The Orland Park, Ill., native anchored a defense that shut out four opponents on the season, including MVC foe Missouri State. The sophomore also helped WKU allow two goals or less on 14 different occasions. The defender still managed to record 10 shots on the season including two each against the Bears, Kentucky and High Point.
Schroeder finished his career ranked in the top-10 in several goalkeeping career categories at WKU. He is sixth-best with nine shutouts, eighth highest with 158 saves and ninth with a 1.94 goal against average. The Coppell, Texas, native also played in over 3,300 minutes in goal for his four seasons. The physical education — exercise science major started 10 matches on the season in goal and eight more as a forward. In the 10 matches as a keeper, the senior shut out three opponents, made 34 saves — including seven shots against High Point and another six at Lipscomb.
