Masteller and Smith were honored on the second-team — as the latter was also put on the all-freshman squad — and Kopec was honorable mention all-MVC.
Masteller played in all 19 matches on the year, starting 16. The St. John, Ind., native tallied two goals and two assists on the year. His goal in the 20th minute helped the Hilltoppers take the lead against Kentucky and his goal in the 72nd minute tied the match at Lipscomb. The sophomore’s assists came against High Point and IUPUI. Masteller finished with 24 shots on the year, including three at Bradley and against IUPUI.
Smith was awarded second-team defender and all-freshman team. He led a defense to four shutouts, while starting 18 matches on the year. The Arlington, Texas, native still managed to score a goal in the 52nd minute against MVC foe Drake that tied the match. He also collected an assist at Lipscomb. Smith took nine shots on the season, including a season-high four against the Bisons.
After being named all-freshman last season, Kopec followed it up with honorable mention all-MVC selection this year. The defender helped a defense give up two goals or less on 14 different occasions and shutout four opponents, including conference opponent Missouri State. The Orland Park, Ill., native started all 19 matches on the year and took 10 shots.
