The Hilltoppers record moved to 1-3-1 while the Bisons improved to 3-3-1.
The lone goal of the match came in the 24th minute after Ben Page nailed a penalty kick.
WKU had its chances after the Hilltoppers took 14 shots in the match to Lipscomb’s eight. Western Kentucky also attempted six corner kicks during the match.
Will Fancher and Paul Kopec tallied three shots each. Pat Rickman defended the goal posts for the entire 90 minutes while making five saves.
Lipscomb’s Danny Prichard collected his second shutout of the season while stopping five shots. Page added five shots including three on goal.
The Toppers return home on Saturday (Sept. 16) to take on Berea at 1 p.m. (CDT) at the WKU Soccer Complex.
