A 6-foot-4, 285-pound resident of Dayton, Ohio, Thuney’s 97 percent overall grade following WKU’s 41-3 win over Indiana State was the highest earned by a Topper lineman this fall, and he was also credited with a 98 percent factor grade and season-high-tying seven pancake blocks. The junior did not allow a sack or a quarterback pressure and was not called for a penalty.
Thuney’s efforts helped the Hilltopper offense rack up season-high totals with 342 yards rushing, 544 total yards, 41 points and 27 first downs.
WKU (5-3, 4-1 Gateway) returns to action Saturday with a trip to face No. 14 Northern Iowa (5-3, 3-1 GFC) in its final road contest of the regular season. Kickoff at the UNI-Dome is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. (CST).
