The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Louisville, Ky., resident was also a first-team preseason All-America selection by both The Sports Network and I-AA.org. He was also voted preseason first-team all-Gateway Football Conference at the league’s annual Media Day in July.
Thomas is coming off a season in which he led the Hilltoppers with seven interceptions and eight passes broken up, both figures that paced the team and ranked among the top 30 in the nation. He added a career-high 75 tackles, which led all cornerbacks in the GFC, including 3.5 behind the line of scrimmage.
He enters his final campaign as Western’s active leader with 11 interceptions and 14 passes defended.
