While most tasks such as these local appearances are left to newcomers and younger players, that won’t be the case as preseason All-Americans Erik Losey and Antonio Thomas lead a group of more than 20 student-athletes in the effort to publicize Western football in the area. Other stars including Lerron Moore, Marion Rumph, Daniel Williams and Joe Woolridge — all honored in the postseason last fall by the Gateway Football Conference — will take part in the promotional effort.
Between 1 and 5 p.m. (CDT), the Hilltoppers will be in uniform while stopping in stores and restaurants on all the major thoroughfares in Bowling Green, including Scottsville Road, Campbell Lane and the 31-W Bypass, as well as on the square downtown.
