Raigo Toompuu placed 11th in the second flight of the qualifying round of the shot put with a toss of 57-9, placing 22nd overall. The senior will continue his career Thursday at 5:15 (CDT), when he competes in the qualifying round of the discus – an event in which he is ranked seventh ini the nation with a performance of 192-9, set at the Sun Belt Championships May 13.
The Lady Topper 4x100-meter relay team of Temi Akojie, Shanea Wilson, Carita Cole, and Tiffany Porter-Talbert placed fourth in the first heat of the qualifying round, finishing 17th overall, thus ending their record-breaking season.
Competition continues Thursday at 1:15 p.m. (CDT) with the continuation of the men’s decathlon.
