This is Mupfudze’s second all-region award — he was placed on the third-team after his sophomore campaign in 2003. The senior started every match this season for the Hilltoppers, leading the team — and tying a personal high — with eight goals. The Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, native also recorded two assists for a total of 18 points. Mupfudze collected match-winning goals against Vermont and Evansville after taking 61 shots on the year.
He completed his tenure at WKU in the career top 10 for goals (25) and points (63).
This marks the fourth time that a Hilltopper has been honored with a first-team all-region selection, and the 19th time that a men’s soccer player was placed on an all-region squad.
WKU finished the season with an 8-8-1 record and ranked as high as sixth in the Midwest region.
