It’s the first time the 6-foot-2, 290-pound senior from Hixson, Tenn., has earned All-America honors.
Losey graded out at 95 percent overall, the best mark on the team, while also earning a 93 percent production grade in 2005. A two-time Gateway Football Conference Offensive Lineman-of-the-Week selection who also earned first-team all-league accolades last month, he ranked second on the squad with 137 pancake blocks.
Losey — who did not allow a sack in his final year on the Hill — helped the Toppers lead the conference and rank 14th in the country in rushing offense while also standing in the top 30 nationally in scoring and total offense. WKU averaged 405.7 yards per game of total offense, the fifth-best figure in school history, this fall en route to a 6-5 finish, the school’s 10th consecutive winning season.
He’s the third Hilltopper offensive lineman to be honored by the organization in the last four years — Buster Ashley was selected in 2003 and ’04 while Chris Price was recognized following the 2002 campaign — as WKU has placed at least one player on the AFCA All-America team in each of the last six seasons.
