Lerron Moore was selected the league’s Offensive Player of the Week Sunday.
Ryan, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound sophomore from Murray, Ky., was recognized for the first time in his career after grading out at 92 percent with a 92 percent production grade against the Golden Panthers. He was credited with 19 pancake blocks, and he did not allow either a sack or a quarterback pressure, while helping the Hilltopper offense rack up 35 points and 347 yards of total offense in averaging 6.0 yards per snap.
For the season, Ryan posted a 91 percent grade overall with a 90 percent production grade, and he recorded a team-best 158 pancake blocks in his first season as a starter. He allowed just two sacks on the Hilltoppers’ 235 pass attempts as his efforts helped the Toppers lead the conference and rank 15th in the country in rushing offense — they also are among the top 30 nationally in scoring and total offense. WKU averaged 405.7 yards per game of total offense, the fifth-best figure in school history.
The Hilltoppers ended 2005 6-5, the 10th consecutive season that they have finished with a winning record.
