This is Mupfudze’s fourth straight season earning all-conference accolades, and it marks the first time Mupfudze was placed on the first-team. The senior started every match this season for the Hilltoppers, leading the team — and tying a personal high — with eight goals. The Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, native also recorded two assists for a total of 18 points. Mupfudze collected match-winning goals against Vermont and Evansville this season after taking 61 shots on the year.
He completes his tenure at WKU in the top 10 all-time for goals (25) and points (63) in a career.
Kline received his first all-conference award by anchoring a defense that collected seven shutouts in 2005. The tri-captain has started and played in all 17 matches. In over 1,550 minutes of action, the defense only gave up 28 goals on the year and had 1.60 goals against average.
Downey saw action in every match in his first year on the Hill, scoring three goals including a pair of match-winners. The Owenton, Ky., native scored twice against Kentucky Wesleyan, and added the lone goal of the match against 15th-ranked Creighton. Downey took 12 shots on the year, with six on goal.
The Hilltoppers finished the season with an 8-8-1 record, defeating two ranked opponents during the year (Vermont and Creighton). They will lose six seniors from the 2005 squad.
