The game — which was originally scheduled to begin at 1:10 p.m. — will take place at KSU Stadium in Manhattan, Kan. It marks the second time in three seasons that the Hilltoppers will open their campaign against the Wildcats, as WKU fell to K-State on Aug. 31, 2002, before going on to finish 12-3 and claim its first national championship.
KSU also won the only other meeting between the two schools in September 1993.
Western will have five straight night contests, and will play under the lights in six of its first seven games, with the time change.
