A 6-1 senior from Indianapolis, Schiff tallied 33 kills and a .431 hitting percentage in wins over Middle Tennessee and North Texas. The two victories gave WKU a share of the Sun Belt East Division championship for the fifth straight year, and locked up the second seed in this week’s Sun Belt Conference Tournament. For the weekend, she averaged 4.71 kills and 1.14 blocks per game.
The Lady Toppers closed out the regular season 24-6 overall and 11-3 in the conference. The will face seventh-seeded Denver in the opening round of the conference tournament at noon (CST) on Thursday (Nov. 18) in New Orleans. The winner of that match will face either Arkansas State or Arkansas-Little Rock in Friday’s first semifinal match at 5 p.m. The championship match of the tournament is slated for 1 p.m. on Saturday. Western Kentucky has played in each of the last three Sun Belt Tournament championship matches, winning the title in 2002.
