The Hilltoppers — ranked third in this week’s polls — will play host to No. 22 Eastern Kentucky Saturday at 7 p.m. (CDT) at L.T. Smith Stadium/Jimmy Feix Field in the CSTV: College Sports Television National I-AA Game of the Week. The contest will be shown locally in Bowling Green on Insight Communications channel 5 and is scheduled to air in Louisville on Insight channel 2. The network is also available on Direct TV channel 610.
WKU has sold more than 12,300 tickets for the first meeting between the instate rivals since October 2000. Remaining tickets can be purchased in person at the Western Kentucky Athletic Ticket Office located in E.A. Diddle Arena, by calling the ticket office at 270-745-5222 or 1-800-5-BIG-RED, or on-line at www.wkusports.com. Reserved seats are available for $14 for those three and up, while general admission tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children — a $2 discount — at all Bowling Green National City Bank locations through Thursday.
In preparation for the “Battle of the Bluegrass,” the WKU Ticket Office will be open from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, and will remain open until 6 p.m. Thursday. On game day, tickets will go on sale at Gate 1 at noon.
The Toppers will also play in the CSTV I-AA Game of the Week Oct. 4 at Western Illinois in both team’s Gateway Football Conference opener. And, WKU’s regular-season finale at Youngstown State on Nov. 15 has been picked up by The Football Network.
