Q: What do you think your chances for another title in '04 are? -- Submitted by Matthew McCay, Old Hickory, Tenn.
Coach Elson: Matt, Thanks for the question and interest in our program. It's really hard to tell right now what our chances are but I do like the way this team is coming together. This team, in its own way, has a lot of similarities to last year's team. Once again our defense is small, but very fast and athletic and our offense has some questions to be answered at some key positions. (QB, TB, FB, WR) The most encouraging thing is that we have more players here this summer than we have had in the past seven years. As you know, teams are made in the off-season, so we are excited about what has gone on so far. As always, there is still a tremendous amount of work to be done. Thanks again for your question. We look forward to seeing you at all six home games this fall! August 28th is only 85 days away! Go Toppers!
Q: Now that Coach Harbaugh is gone, what will become of the I-Bone offense that he made WKU football's calling card. Also, I was wondering who do you think was the best wide receiver in WKU history? -- Submitted by Joseph Stockton, Bowling Green, Ky.
Coach Elson: Joseph, Thanks for your question and interest in our program. You have obviously been out of the country or something because I know you would have been at a game this past year and noticed that we got away from the I-Bone while Coach Harbaugh was still hear. We plan to employ a blanced attack that will take advantage of any weaknesses that the defense may have. We still believe that you must be able run the ball, but realize at the same time that a balanced attack gives us the best chance to win week in and week out.
In regards to your second question, to get the answer that I know you want to hear, you had better ask Ms. Martha Lloyd!
Great to hear from you! I look forward to seeing you at all six home games! August 28th is only 85 days away!
