Bowling Green, Ky. - A Western Kentucky University student has passed away after drowning over the weekend.
Theodis "Trey" McMiller, 19, a freshman from Apopka, Fla. died after drowning on a lake near London, Ky. on Saturday (May. 3). McMiller was the son of Theodis and Dolores McMiller of Apopka, Fla. He was also a wide receiver on the national champion Hilltopper football team.
"Nothing can prepare you for a tragedy like this. We are all saddened by the loss of Trey McMiller," said Hilltopper head coach David Elson. "Trey had already established himself as a team leader and a valuable part of the program. We are going to stick together in the football program and as a university family to get through this tough time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the McMiller family and Trey's friends in Apopka."
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday (May 10) in Apopka.
