Kickoff is set for noon (CST) as the Hilltoppers (7-3, 4-2 Gateway) and Penguins (5-6, 2-4 GFC) will both be wrapping up their regular-season schedules. It’s the fourth television appearance of the year for WKU, which had its games with Eastern Kentucky and Western Illinois broadcast nationally as well as a regional telecast at Illinois State.
The game can also be seen on a tape-delayed basis at 1 a.m. on The Football Network — fans must call their local cable providers for availability of the first-year channel.
Western leads the all-time series, 8-4, and has won both meetings since joining the Gateway prior to the start of the 2001 season. The Hilltoppers earned a 24-14 victory in their last trip to Youngstown on Oct. 27, 2001.
