Oakley, a 6-foot-4, 295-pound senior guard from Houston, Texas, received an overall grade of 96 percent following Western’s three-point win at Illinois State last week, with a 100 percent assignment grade and a factor grade of 94 percent. He did not allow a sack, a quarterback pressure or commit a penalty on 71 snaps, and he was credited with 19 knockdown blocks.
The Hilltoppers ran for 235 yards and collected 350 total against the Redbirds. WKU now ranks second in the league, and 16th nationally, with 227.57 rushing yards per contest.
Western (5-2, 2-1 Gateway) returns to action Saturday with a 2 p.m. (CDT) kickoff at Indiana State (3-5, 0-3 GFC). The Hilltoppers are ranked eighth in this week’s polls.
