Bowling Green - Brandon Bailey's (Fr., Coppell, Texas) penalty kick with 3:49 into the first overtime proved to be the game winner as the Western Kentucky Men's Soccer team rallied from a 3-goal defecit to defeat visiting Cumberland College 4-3 Saturday night in an exhibition match at the WKU Intramural complex.
Ben Buerger's (Sr., Louisville) late-game heroics helped force the overtime session. With the Hilltoppers trailing 3-1 late in the second half, Buerger scored goals in both the 84th and 88th minute to tie the score. Western's Jason Dugas (Fr., Southlake, Texas) got the Hilltoppers on the board with a goal in the 56th minute.
Cumberland's Eric Corscadden scored three goals in a 10-minute span late in the first half to lead the Patriots to a 3-0 halftime advantage. The Hilltoppers came out more agressive in the second half. Western outshot the Patriots 24-2 in the second half and 40-10 for the game.
