Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky men's soccer coach David Holmes will begin instruction of his 2002 Hilltopper Soccer Summer Camps today at the Hattie L. Preston Intramural Complex as 300 campers will take part in the Hilltopper Team Camp.
Teams will participate in morning training sessions with their coaches before taking part in two sessions of games over the five-day camp. The first session of games will run from 2:30-4:30 p.m. (CDT), with a night session taking place from 7-9 p.m.
WKU will also offer a day camp at the complex on Campbell Lane July 15-19. Campers will be divided into groups based on age, experience and ability. Emphasis is placed on developing and improving the skills of each camper. The day camp will run daily from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Techniques such as shooting, passing, receiving, heading, dribbling and goalkeeping are learned through small group instruction, and are reinforced through a variety of lively games.
