Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky men's soccer coach David Holmes has signed his first two recruits for the 2001 season.
Clay McMillan will join the Hilltoppers from Trinity High School in Louisville. While playing for coach Walter Mata, he earned all-state honors as a senior, as well as all-region and all-district. The three-year starter was also a member of the 1998 state championship team at Trinity that was ranked third nationally. McMillan was also a member of the Kentucky Olympic Development program, and part of the Region II ODP pool team.
Brad Benz will also come to the Hill from Louisville, after a successful career at Manual High School. The three-year varsity starter was an all-state selection as a senior, and was all-region and all-district both as a junior and a senior. He has also played for the Javanon club team, winning state championships in 1999 and 2000.
