Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky men's soccer coach David Holmes has signed two more players for the 2001 season. Brandon Bailey will join the Hilltoppers form Coppell, Texas where he was a three-year starter at Coppell High School. He helped the Killer Bees to a regional championship in 1998-99, advancing to the 4A state semifinals. Current Hilltopper soccer player Ron Plute was also a member of that team. They also won a district championship in 1999-2000, where Bailey earned 11-4A all-district. The 6'1" forward finished the 1999-2000 season with 12 goals and four assists, making him the third leading scorer on his team. He has also been a member of the Solar soccer club in the North Texas Soccer Association, winning the state cup in 1995, '98 and 2000. He was also a member of the Disney Soccer Showcase champions in 2000, and played for the North Texas Olympic Development Program team in 1997.
Justin Goodman comes to the Hill after a successful prep career at Russellville High School in Russellville, Ark. The three-year starter has been a member of the All-5A West Conference team, as well as earning all-state, all-region and all-tournament honors. Goodman has also played for the Ft. Smith Express club team, coached by former Hilltopper soccer player Mike DeVaney (1988-91).
These two student-athletes join Clay McMillan and Brad Benz as the newest members of the Hilltopper soccer team.
