BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Western Kentucky University head coach Jack Harbaugh announced Thursday that sophomore free safety Bobby Sippio has been suspended from the football team indefinitely.
He is no longer practicing with the team, and will be eligible for reinstatement following the Hilltoppers' season-opening contest against Tennessee-Martin on Saturday, Sept. 9.
"We've suspended Bobby for conduct and attitude unbecoming a Western Kentucky football player," Harbaugh said. "This is not due to a single incident this week, but an accumulation of actions over time."
Sippio, a Kissimmee, Fla., resident, was a preseason all-Ohio Valley Conference selection in the defensive backfield, as voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
