BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With its home-opener just around the corner, WKU Softball has announced its 2019 promotions schedule for the 24 home games this season at the WKU Softball Complex. The slate features seven different giveaways, admission discounts, new concession stand deals and more.
For the Hilltoppers' home-opening doubleheader against Western Illinois on Saturday, Feb. 16, there will be free admission for all and the first 250 fans inside the stadium will receive a free 2019 team schedule magnet. The following day, WKU Softball will conclude its three-game series with the Leathernecks as the first Faith & Family Day takes place along with the new Sunday Funday concession stand deal.
Anytime the Hilltoppers host a game on a Sunday, fans can bring a church bulletin and receive one free admission per flier. The Sunday Funday concession deal features a $5 kid's meal. Additionally, admission will be free for any child 12 years old or younger for all Sunday contests at the WKU Softball Complex. The squad currently has six Sunday games on the slate.
At the Hilltopper Classic from Feb. 22-24, all WKU Softball campers will receive free admission throughout the tournament. Saturday, Feb. 23 will be the WKU Softball Camper Reunion Day.
After the Red and White return from a month of road tilts, fans will be welcomed back to the complex with a free jersey towel giveaway on March 23 as the squad welcomes Charlotte to town. A full day of promotions, the day will also be part of Youth League Day (free tickets for Little League players; $1 tickets for friends and family), Girl Scout Weekend (free tickets for Girl Scouts; $3 tickets for friends and family), Military Appreciation Weekend (All former and current service members will receive two free tickets to the series) and Big Brother/Big Sister Day (Each Big and Little will receive free admission; $3 tickets for friends and family).
As WKU hosts C-USA foe Florida Atlantic March 30-31, the first 100 fans into the stadium will receive a free WKU Red Towel. Three days later when Louisville comes to town, there will be another giveaway as the first 100 fans will receive a free t-shirt.
WKU will host its annual Strikeout Cancer game on Saturday, April 13 as North Texas visits The Hill, featuring free admission while donations will be accepted to benefit cancer research. Additionally, the first 100 fans to the game will receive a free pink t-shirt.
On Wednesday, April 24, WKU will have its first of two Midweek Concession Deal dates. The special features $2 popcorn and $2 hot dogs. The second date for the concession promotion is Wednesday, May 1, when Murray State comes to town.
The Murray State tilt will also double as WKU's Faculty/Staff Appreciation night with all WKU faculty and staff receiving two free tickets by showing their WKU ID at the gate. The first 50 fans through the gate will receive a free WKU pint glass.
WKU Softball will host its Senior Weekend across May 4-5 when UTSA visits Bowling Green. Several promotions will be in full swing as all Hilltopper Athletic Foundation members can receive two complimentary tickets for both days. Additionally, all Big Red's Rascals will receive free admission all weekend along with a complimentary ticket for a friend or family member. Finally, WKU's annual Bark in the Park day will be Saturday as the Hilltoppers play a doubleheader. Any fan to bring an item on the Bowling Green Humane Society's list (link) will receive free admission. The first 100 fans in the stadium can pick up a WKU bandanna for their furry friend. Bark in the Park is the only time dogs will be allowed in the WKU Softball Complex.
