STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — WKU Lady Topper Golf continued its ascent up the leaderboard at Georgia State's John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate, finishing Tuesday's final round in fourth place as a team.
The Lady Toppers finished day one in ninth, moved to seventh Monday and finished in fourth with a 917 (317-300-300) total at the par-72, 6,043-yard Eagle's Landing Country Club.
Senior Georgina Blackman led the way for WKU, tying for fifth with a 222 (77-72-73) total. It's Blackman's fourth top-five performance of the season. She finished the event second in par-4 scoring at 2 over and tied for fourth with 36 total pars.
Senior Katie Story earned her fifth top-20 result of the season by tying for 14th at 229 (78-77-74), while sophomore Mary Joiner tied for 21st at 231 (81-74-76).
Freshman Megan Clarke tied for 49th at 238 (81-80-77), and sophomore Bailey Tyree completed play with a 248 (89-77-82) tally.
Sophomore Abigail Smee placed 69th at 247 (84-85-78) competing as an individual.
Jacksonville won the team title with an 882 total and also split the individual medalist honors between Maria Brunzell and Amanda Detmer at 218.
The Lady Toppers will next compete in Eastern Kentucky's EKU Colonel Classic on March 30-31 in Richmond, Ky. That's the team's final event before the Conference USA Championship.
