IRVING, Texas – Four WKU Lady Topper Basketball games have been selected for streaming on ESPN+ as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning, with the Lady Toppers taking on Louisville and Middle Tennessee at home and UAB and Marshall on the road on the new streaming platform.
In its two home ESPN+ matchups, WKU will take on 2018 Final Four participant Louisville on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. (CT) and archrival Middle Tennessee on March 7 at 6 p.m. (CT) inside E.A. Diddle Arena. On the road, the Lady Toppers will face defending C-USA regular season champion UAB at 2 p.m. (CT) on Feb. 16 and Marshall on Feb. 23 at Noon (CT).
WKU will announce the remainder of its televised games for the 2018-19 season in the coming days.
WKU and Louisville will resume their longtime rivalry for the first time since a close 68-61 victory by the Cardinals inside the KFC Yum! Center on Dec. 11, 2016. In the most recent matchup between the two sides in Diddle, then-freshman Kayla Smith sank the go-ahead basket with 30 seconds remaining as WKU claimed the 71-69 upset over then-No. 16 Louisville on Nov. 21, 2015.
Against Middle Tennessee, the Lady Toppers will be putting their five-game winning streak in the series on the line, their longest over the Blue Raiders since winning nine straight from 1983-98. WKU has also won three straight over Middle Tennessee inside Diddle Arena and leads the series in matchups played on its home court, 21-13.
On Feb. 16, WKU will head to Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Ala., for a rematch of the 2018 C-USA Tournament championship game against UAB. In the regular season, the Blazers got the better of the Lady Toppers in a 79-61 win on Jan. 13, 2018, but WKU returned the favor in the postseason, claiming its second straight C-USA Tournament crown with a 72-57 win on March 10, 2018, in Frisco, Texas.
Finally, WKU will make the short trip to its travel partner Marshall for an early tipoff on Feb. 23. Since falling in the 2016 C-USA Quarterfinals against the Thundering Herd, WKU is a perfect 4-0 in the series, including two wins by 20 or more points last season. Overall, WKU leads the all-time series over Marshall by a 10-1 margin.
