BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Former WKU guard T.J. Price has signed to play professionally for Lille Metropole Basket in the French League Pro B, the program announced Tuesday.
Teams have been competing in the French League since 1921. Former Hilltopper A.J. Slaughter played in the French League Pro A for Cholet Basket during the 2012-13 season.
Before joining LM Basket, Price played in the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational Tournament for college seniors in April, where he averaged 9.7 points and 2.7 assists per game over three contests, and also for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Summer League in July. With the Bulls, he averaged 2.2 points per game over four outings.
Price ended his college career as WKU's all-time leader in three-pointers (286) and finished sixth in career scoring (1,782). He appeared in 125 games and made 109 starts during his four seasons as Hilltopper, and he played in two NCAA Tournaments during his time on The Hill. He averaged 14.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for his career.
Price finished as the 2014-15 regular-season scoring champion in Conference USA and ended the season at 17.1 points per game and was named to the All-C-USA First Team. He finished third in C-USA in three-point field goal percentage (.413), three-pointers made (81) and threes per contest (2.5). The Slidell, La., native hit double figures 27 times in 2014-15 and had 20 or more points in a game 11 times. He started all 32 WKU games last season and also added 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
